Covid-19 - Corona Virus - Updated


30.04.20 - Royal Mail 2nd Class is now taking upto 14 days in some areas, specific dispatch dates affected seem to be from the 14-17th which is generating an usually high number of emails. We have now updated our delivery times to allow for this and subsidised UPS costs for customers to allow us to offer next day delivery at a reduced rate. 

16.04.20 - Due to a high number of complaints about Royal Mail 1st Class delivery it has now been suspended from use until the service resumes as normal.

15.04.20 - We are just about caught up after the bank holiday weekend, although numerous Royal Mail depots are reporting increased demand and a reduction in staff numbers. We will send items out as soon as we can and in line with our delivery dates. The only way to guarantee a 1-2 day service is now UPS/Next Day Delivery.

31.03.20 - Please note - due to technical difficulties and a staff shortage we are unable to answer calls, emailing support@springfields.co.uk is now the fastest way to get a response, usually within 2-3 hours. 

25.03.20 - We are now up to date, orders are going out as normal although stock is starting to run out from some suppliers. If it is on the website then it is in our warehouse.

24.03.20 - Our shop has now closed for the foreseeable future, online orders are continuing with a skeleton screw of 1 or 2, this means orders may be delayed by a day or two but the new shipping options reflect this. 

20.03.20 - We have now taken delivery of two brand types of Covid-19 Survival Kits from BCB - please do not panic buy this item, 2 per customer of each maximum.

19.03.20 - We are seeing an increased demand for crossbows, machetes and other similar products. We are reminding any customer that we have contact with that washing hands is more effective the any other product we sell and that crossbows are only to be used for target practice. We are also operating with around a 50% staff reduction (thankfully none of our staff currently have symptoms, just understandably changed priorities and risk mitigation in mind) - Please bear with us at this time, although orders are being sent as normal. 

We are following the most recent advice from all leading bodies, including the WHO, the British government, Public Health England & NHS Scotland, and implementing any recommended changes and policies to protect our team. 

We know these are uncharted waters, and as a family business, nothing is more important to us than the health of our loved ones, our employees and our loyal customers. Therefore we have implemented various measure to ensure no-one is put at risk.    


We will continue to be reactive as the situation changes as well as open and transparent in sharing any further information.  If you have any concerns, please speak to us and you can find all future updates here.

Our teams

To limit the potential risk of possible spread of infection between our team members, we have separated our workforce into two teams; retail store and warehouse team.  Each team has a designated  working environment. We are also using social distancing if 2 team members need to work in proximity to each other. 

We are also ensuring all team members wash hands upon entering the building, before and after breaks and they also have access to hand sanitiser when handling goods and packing products.

Any member of staff  with, or living with someone displaying any symptoms will be required to self-isolating for 14 days.  During self-isolation, we will support our staff in whatever ways we can. 

Due to this, our teams are likely to become very busy, therefore we would really appricate it if where possible queries could be emailed rather than calling us.

 If you receive a text regarding age verification, please follow the instructions and email a copy of your ID to us.  We will email you confirmation that your ID has been approved as soon as possible , and get your order picked packed and out for delivery that day where possible.


In our retail store, we were encouraging  payment via card (preferably contactless) instead of cash and sanitiser is available for customers and staff alike. We are also using social distancing to keep our retail team members safe. 

We have a notice requesting anyone displaying any symptoms of the virus to please respect the health of our team and their families and to place an order online instead. 

We are now operating reduced opening times with the retail shop being closed on Sunday's and Monday's to ensure we can always staff appropriately.

We are hoping to open the store again in the near future, this is under constant review and we are awaiting government instruction.
