The 163 has a wider, more open curve, making it better for more open, bigger bowls rather than small bowls.
The Mora 163 is a stainless steel double edge spoon and bowl carving knife. The curve on this knife is not as pronounced as the 164 and 162 making the bowl edges shallower, this can be better for wider bowls and the edge of a lipped plate. As the blade is double edge it can be used for push and pull carving. The blade was reprofiled several years ago with the help of some of the best woodcarvers. The profile and edge of this blade makes light work of both softwoods like lime and harder woods like oak.
